Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The U.S. Attorney along with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies announced Tuesday the culmination of a major narcotics investigation that stretched from Buffalo to California and Mexico. The investigation resulted in the seizure of hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, drugs, and guns and culminated with four arrests.

"We have succeeded in dismantling perhaps the most prolific drug trafficking organization currently operating here in Western New York, said U.S. Attorney J.P. Kennedy in announcing the arrests.

David Burgin and Rodney Pierce of Buffalo were arrested by law enforcers last Wednesday, David Washington of Buffalo was taken into custody last Friday and an additional suspect was arrested Monday and taken into custody in southern California.

At least eleven search warrants were executed across Buffalo and Western New York over the course of the past week according to Kennedy and, as a result, more than 7.5 kilograms of cocaine was seized.  Over two kilograms of deadly fentanyl was also seized as a reuslt of the investigation, according to Kennedy, who says, "That's enough fentanyl to wipe out all of the population of Erie County".  Twelve illegal firearms were also seized along with more than $775,000 in US currency and drug paraphernalia.

"If you're going to poison our community with drugs and violence, get out.  We don't want you here, we won't have you here", said Kennedy.  "There are two ways you will be removed from our community; one is in handcuffs, the other is a body bag", added Kennedy.
