Las Vegas Shooting: Why Didn't Someone See Something?

MacMartin: "In Hindsight many probably did"

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) -  If you see something, say something.  That's the mantra from Homeland Security in the post 9-11 era.

Steve MacMartin, Director of Medaille College's Homeland Security Program said law enforcement clearly thinks the girlfriend of the Las Vegas shooter saw something. "This man degenerated from some sort of level of sanity to a level of insanity.  Someone had to have seen that decline.  I personally believe his brother recognized it".

MacMartin said in hindsight, as is often the case, the brother may look back and say I should have seen that.

It's not just family.  "This is a case where the hotel people, from the lobby to room service, may have seen something - and if they had said something - it may have changed the outcome of the event".  The Vegas shooter took more than ten suitcases into his hotel suite between last Thursday and Sunday.

Regarding the shooter's girlfriend, MacMartin said he's heard that investigators have a million questions for her.  "There aren't a million questions to ask, there really are only a  few.  What do you know about what happened and why did it happen?
