Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The lake effect snow settled into the deep southtowns and southern tier overnight where a Winter Weather Advisory remains posted until mid-morning.  Some fresh accumulation is possible before the lake effect bands are expected to dissipate.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST THURSDAY

WHAT...Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie counties.

* WHEN...Until 10 AM EST this morning.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.
