Kearns Holds Stance On Illegal Citizens Receiving Licenses

Local County Clerks Coming Together To Show Support Against Legislation

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Erie County Clerk Mickey Kearns is holding his stance on not allowing illegal immigrants to receive licenses.

Kearns says he and other local county clerks are in unison of this opinion.

"We had a great coversation, we are now formalizing a letter from the western region," Kearns said. "There is now five county clerks. We are teaming together to send a resolution to the president of county clerks association."

Kearns Says No Driver Licenses for Illegal Immigrants

There is currently proposed legislation to allow illegals to receive licenses. Govenor Andrew Cuomo has shown his support for the proposal. But Kearns says he will not permit it even if it passes.
