Thunderstorms pummeled the region several times on Tuesday, leaving a trail of minor damage this morning.

"We got about 50 reports of severe weather damage across Western and Cetnral New York, most of that being things like trees and power lines down," says Meteorologist Jon Hitchcock in the Buffalo office of the National Weather Service. "And what made it seem especially busy was there were mulitple waves of storms that moved through. It wasn't just one single line, we had three or four different waves."

The region was briefly under two tornado warnings, when radar showed rotation in Cattaraugus County and  near Dansville in Livingston county, but Hitchcock says there is no evidence that any of that touched ground.

An area southeast of Ischua in Cattaraugus County reported 1.02 inches of rain on Tuesday; Silver Creek topped the Chautauqua County readings with .44 inches
