Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - The spotlight is shining brighter on Buffalo Sabres Head Coach Phil Housley as the team has fallen far out of the playoff race with a month still to go in the season.

The Sabres blew another lead in a 4-3 loss at home to the Edmonton Oilers Monday night, keeping them nine points out of a playoff position.

While appearing on WGR radio Tuesday morning, Housley was asked if he is thinking about his job security.

"I don't even think about that," Housley said. "I've got a job to do, and I'm going to continue to try to push our group to get better. There's a lot of good things that have gone on. It's just that this is a results-riven business, and right now even though we're doing a lot of good things, we're not getting the wins. That's a priority, and I understand it."

The team has just 16 games left in the season. They are likely to become just the second team in NHL history to miss the playoffs after posting a 10-game winning streak.
