Head of Nichols School to Resign

Says move is to spend more time with family

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - Nichols has announced that Head of School Bill Clough told the Board of Trustees that the 2018-2019 school year will be his last.

The search for the next Head of School is underway.

“I write to tell you that I will finish my tenure as Head of Nichols School on June 30, 2019,” Clough said in a letter sent to the Nichols community. “I am sharing this news a year in advance to give the Board of Trustees the time they need to identify my successor, and Jeff Meyer and I are already working together to ensure a smooth transition.”

Clough said that his decision to leave Nichols after the 2018-2019 school year is due to a desire to be closer to his family.

“Bill has done tremendous work at Nichols,” said Board Chair Jeff Meyer in a statement. “Although we are sad that Bill will be leaving us and will miss him greatly, we celebrate what will be his six years at Nichols and look forward to his continuing strong leadership through June 2019.”
