Lockport, NY (WBEN) Hazmat crews were called to the Niagara County Courthouse Monday morning after a report of a suspicious envelope.

Lockport Fire Chief Patrick Brady said the call was made between 11 and 11:30am when someone upstairs opened a letter that contained a white-powdery substance.

The three individuals exposed to the substance will be washed. Officials say the substance was a vitamin C powder. He says there is no suspect yet.

He also said family court appearances will be conducted at City Hall as the courthouse will be closed for the remainder of the day.
