Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Strong winds crossed over the Buffalo and Western New York region overnight into Friday.  The strongest winds occurred during the overnight hours and are expected to subside through the Friday morning commute.  A Wind Advisory has been allowed to be discontinued early.(Above map shows peak wind gust forecast)

The 25 to 35 mph winds were gusting into the 40's overnight and caused the Lake Erie water level to rise. A Lakeshore Flood Warning was posted, however the lake level has begun to subside and that warning has been canceled.
