BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - A prominent City of Buffalo employee plead guilty to the sexual abuse of a 17-year-old boy.

Antwan Diggs, 50, plead guilty Thursday to the abuse that happened at the Marriott Hotel at Canalside last August. He forced the boy to perform oral sex on him, then later blamed “demons” for his actions.

Diggs was the former Community Crime Prevention Coordinator for the Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency. He has since lost his job.

Diggs was also a pastor at the Hananiah Lutheran Church in Buffalo.

“There are human frailties in life and people make bad decisions and mistakes,” Defense Attorney Tom Eoannou said. “He’s certainly paying the price in every sense of the word, personally and professionally, with this plea.”

He will be sentenced on May 13 and faces up to two years in prison. Diggs is currently out on $100,000 bond. He declined comment after his plea.
