BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Senator Patrick Gallivan announced that he will not be a candidate for the 27th congressional district.

Gallivan released the following statement on Friday afternoon:

“It is my great honor and privilege to represent the citizens of the 59th Senate District who have entrusted me to be their voice in Albany.  My commitment to them, to all of the individuals and organizations who have placed their trust in me, my colleagues in the Senate Majority and most importantly my family, take precedent over personal ambition.

I will not be a candidate for the 27th Congressional District at this time.”

Gallivan was polled by Clout Research as having the strongest chance to defeat Nathan McMurray in the November election.
