Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A former Hamburg police captain admits to interfering with a police investigation into a domestic disturbance in his home.

42-year-old Christopher Monaco of Town of Hamburg pleaded guilty before Hamburg Town Justice Gerald P. Gorman on two counts of Harassment in the Second Degree, which are violations.

After receiving a 911 hang-up call on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at approximately 11:30 p.m., police officers responded to Monaco’s home on Bender Court. Prosecutors say he subjected two police officers to physical contact while the officers were performing their lawful duties in response to the domestic disturbance.

Monaco was sentenced this morning to a conditional discharge, which requires him to continue with counseling until discharged by the provider.
