Buffalo, NY (WBEN) The waters are starting to subside along Cazenovia Creek and the Buffalo River as ice jams broke apart, but not before dozens of homes were flooded.

"Some of the waters are receding two feet, which has freed up the jamming we were seeing," says Mayor Brown. "About 100 homes have seen some water in the basement."

Brown says two vans from the city's department of community services and a Buffalo Public Schools bus are available to have Buffalo Fire transport displaced families to the Tosh Collins Community Center. "Those vehicles are in place, and anyone who needs to be transported can call," says Brown.

An overnight warming center is available at Winchester Elementary in West Seneca.
