Erie County coronavirus tally at 146

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - There are 146 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Erie County as of Wednesday evening, a rise of 23 within one afternoon.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz shared an afternoon total of 123 cases during his daily news conference on Wednesday. Of the confirmed cases, two people have died and four have recovered.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Erie County Public Health Lab has performed 721 total tests though Poloncarz stressed that more tests have been done privately at places like Quest Diagnostics and Labcorp. though these numbers were not represented in the evening update by the county executive.

Erie County also recently acquired 600 testing kits to be conducted at the public health lab. 

Poloncarz was joined by Erie County Senior Services Commissioner David Shenk who urged any seniors needing services to contact (716) 858-8526 between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. These services include home-delivered meals, transportation, home care, and more.
