Diocesan staff member resigning next year

Steven Timmel, top finance director, leaving February 1

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Another member of the Diocese of Buffalo has left.

Steven D. Timmel, the Diocesan Executive Director of Financial Administration, announced that he will be leaving his position on February 1. Timmel has worked for the Diocese of Buffalo for the last 31 years.

He said he's looking forward to new professional challenges.

I am grateful to the staff of the Diocese of Buffalo, past and present, for their dedication in support of the mission of the Diocese," Timmel said in a statement.

Timmel led the finance department that's tasked with ensuring the financial stability of the diocese. That office is tasked with recommending program priorities in view of the resources available through the annual budget, the finance department, and under the direction of the finance council.
