COVID19 Deaths Reported in 3 WNY Counties

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Allegany, Chautauqua and Genesee Counties announce their first deaths as a result of coronavirus.

Allegany County says the fatality was a patient older than 60, with underlying health issues.

“To protect the family’s privacy, the only information we are releasing is that the person was over 60 years old and had other health conditions that could have compromised their recovery from COVID–19,” said Lori Ballengee, Public Health Director. “I can’t stress strongly enough that this is a community acquired disease. While we are protecting the public by isolating or quarantining exposed people immediately after we are notified."

Genesee County also reported its first COVID19 death, no information on the patient reported.

Chautauqua County's first fatality is a man in his 80s who was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Erie.

Erie County 443 confirmed, 8 deaths, 43 recovered

Niagara County: 51 confirmed

Orleans County: 5 confirmed

Genesee County:7 confirmed, 1 death

Allegany County: 6 confirmed, 1 death

Wyoming County: 7 confirmed, 1 death

Cattaraugus County: 5 confirmed

Chautauqua County: 8 confirmed, 1 death
