BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Two Canadians were arrested over the holiday weekend after they were caught with cocaine when crossing the Peace Bridge.

Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a 24-year-old man when he crossed the border on Friday. They found 5.1 grams of cocaine on him. Then on Saturday, authorities arrested a 48-year-old person who had 22 grams of cocaine on him plus four percocet pills.

In both incidents, the subjects were arrested and turned over to the City of Buffalo Police Department.

“Even on our busiest weekends, our CBP officers remain vigilant securing our borders,” said Acting Buffalo Director of Field Operations LaFonda Sutton-Burke. “These seizures represent the dedication of our workforce to ensure the safety of our communities especially during the holiday season.”

Authorities did not release the names of the people arrested.
