(WBEN) - Western New York native Chad Kelly is getting another shot in the NFL after recently being sentenced to 1 year probation following an arrest on home invasion charges.

The Indianapolis Colts announced they have signed Kelly to a contract. Kelly formerly played football at St. Joe's in Tonawanda before being removed from the team.

After his arrest, Kelly, nephew of Bills Hall of Fame Quarterback Jim Kelly, was cut by the Denver Broncos. Jim Kelly reportedly helped Chad by guiding him through workouts. Chad Kelly now signs with the team coached by his uncle Jim's former backup, Frank Reich.

Kelly, 25, was a seventh-round selection by the Denver Broncos in the 2017 NFL Draft.
