Denver, CO (WBEN) - The Buffalo Sabres got a much-needed win in Colorado last night, soundly beating the Avalanche 4-2.

Ryan O'Reilly, Beniot Pouliot, Jake McCabe and Jack Eichel all earned multiple points.

Jake McCabe got the first goal from a Sabre's defenseman this year, scoring with a minute left in the second period.  The Sabres were the only team in the NHL without a goal from a defenseman.

Jack Eichel scored an empty-net insurance goal with 30 seconds left in the game.

It was a feisty game featuring more penalties than usual with Zach Bogosian going to the box multiple times.

The Sabres are now 7-17-4.  The play the Chicago Blackhawks Friday night.
