Buffalo Police still searching for man who shot at officers

Police looking for Robert McBridge after he allegedly shot at police on Thursday

Update: Buffalo Police have arrested 23-year-old Robert McBride and charged him with multiple counts of murder.

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo Police are looking for a man who fled on foot after firing gunshots at police officers shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Thursday at Lang and Newburgh on the city's east side.

No officer was struck by gunfire and no injuries were reported after Robert McBride, 23, shot at the officers.  Buffalo Police did not return shots in the incident.

Buffalo Police Captain Jeff Rinaldo says McBride could face two counts of attempted murder of police officers.

"Throughout the course of the day, detectives have been getting information and we have executed numerous search warrants here, in the Town of Tonawanda and Cheektowaga," he said.  "We have not located him yet."

A nearby resident on the scene tells WBEN she wants residents to sleak up, saying, "say something....stop these criminals".

Police are said to be searching for a black male wearing a black hoodie and gray jeans

The King Center Charter School is located at the intersection of Lang and Newburgh. No one was at the school when the shooting happened and the building was locked. There are multiple cameras around the building.
