Buffalo Police officer hurt after Saturday morning accident

Separate incident on Bailey Avenue

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Buffalo Police officer was taken to the hospital on Saturday morning after their patrol car was hit by two other vehicles on Elmwood Avenue.

Police said the accident happened around 7:50 a.m. in the 2000 block of Elmwood Avenue. The officer's condition was not released.

Weather may have played a factor.

Additionally another officer-involved accident happened just before 8:15am in the 1600 block of Bailey Avenue. Buffalo police say a patrol vehicle & another vehicle collided.

Both the female officer & the driver of the other vehicle were transported to ECMC to be treated for injuries. Police are investigating if weather may have played a role.

Meanwhile, Buffalo police are investigating an accident that occurred just after 10:30am when a vehicle struck a building in the 2300 block of Fillmore Avenue near Amherst Street.

Police say the driver of the vehicle was transported to ECMC to be treated.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
