Larry Jones faces seven years in prison for East Side hit-and-run

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Buffalo man has plead guilty after a hit-and-run crash in 2017 that injured another driver.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office announced that Larry Jones plead guilty to assault in the second degree on Monday.

Jones, 42, sped on Masten Avenue near East Utica Street in Buffalo at 4:26 a.m. on June 26 when he crashed his car into another car at the intersection. The crash caused the victim's car to collide into a tree. Jones' car hit a garage and a parked car. Jones then ran away and left his car at the scene.

The victim, whose name was not released, spent several months at Buffalo General Medical Center, where he underwent multiple surgeries and physical therapy. He is still recovering.

Jones will be sentenced on May 4. He faces up to seven years in prison.
