Buffalo Man Indicted in Deadly Shooting

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A Buffalo man pleads not guilty to a deadly shooting in July 2015.

27-year-old Cornelius Jones of Buffalo has been arraigned before State Supreme Court Justice John Michalski on an indictment charging him with Murder in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

Prosecutors say Jones fatally shot the victim, Dequan Griggs of Buffalo, at a neighborhood block party on Montana Street.

Jones pleaded not guilty and was taken into custody. Justice Michalski set bail at $125,000 cash or bond. If convicted of the charges, Jones faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
