Buffalo Man Accused of Raping Woman

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Buffalo man was arraigned on Thursday after allegedly raping a woman in the City of Buffalo last year.

Carl Thomas, 24, is accused of approaching a young woman at a corner store on Broadway and Schutrum Streets in the City of Buffalo. A few minutes later, Thomas approached the woman against outside the store, grabbed her arm, and gestured that he had a gun in his pocket. He allegedly forced her to walk with him, where he strangled and sexually assaulted her. 

He was remanded and will return to court on August 8 for a motion argument.

Thomas faces up to 25 years in prison.
