Orchard Park, NY (WBEN) The Bills' brass say the draft board is just about read for next Thursday's NFL Draft.

GM Brandon Beane and coach Sean McDermott say "It's a new year, new personalities, and we got our work cut out for us... We've got to earn the right and that starts today." McDermott credits Bills staff with being prepared for the start of offseason workouts.

As far as the draft board goes, Beane says, "We haven't finalized every position. We're pretty close. We have it down to some clumps... We've got them close to where their final place will be. That's what we're doing now the scouts are here and we're basically just going around trying to settle some arguments." He says finding a franchise quarterback is a top priority, saying the NFL is a quarterback league.

Could the Bills trade up? "If I have a really good relationship with the GM or somebody high up there I may call or text them directly, or if Sean does, or Joe Schoen, or Terrance Gray...that's generally how it would start and if there is an interest I would get on the phone with the GM," says Beane. "We're at 12, I don't know what's going to be there at 12, I don't know what QB will be there. I don't know if we're going up or down. That's really how it is as I sit here."

Beane admits the draft is a tense time. "I think I'll lose sleep every year going into the draft. You're always going to have holes, you're always gonna want to make your roster more competitive and better. That's the thing, we always want to find the best football players that we can," says Beane.

One person not at today's workouts is Richie Incognito, who announced his retirement, but also hinted on Twitter of coming back. Beane considers Incognito not on the 90 man roster and must apply to the commissioner for reinstatement.
