Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Back on WBEN Monday, David Bellavia says he remains undecided on a decision to run for NY27.

Bellavia tells Tom Bauerle he's learned lessons from the past. "When someone says we'd like this, you don't come out and say no, no, no because you burn bridges and close opportunities in the future. In the past, I have make mistakes where I have gone with my own ambition, what I wanted to do, and the chairman had one thing to say, I did my own thing, and that was a failed and flawed strategy," says Bellavia.

Bellavia says the Medal of Honor will not be a factor. "When I ran in 2012, this action had already occurred. People told me I should have gone in and told them everything so that could be used and people could know me. I wasn't known in Erie County," says Bellavia. "The award is not going to be the determining factor. I'm not going to say now I've received this, I'm going to parlay that into something else. I owe that respect to sit down with party chairs privately, and then make that decision privately before telling WBEN."
