Becker Pleads Guilty to Stealing $4.1 million

Stole funds from Towne Auto Group for over seven years

EAST AURORA, N.Y. (WBEN) - The former comptroller who admitted to taking $4.1 million from Towne Auto Group pleaded guilty on Tuesday in Erie County Court.

Billie Becker, 55, pleaded guilty to Grand Larceny in the First Degree and Criminal Tax Fraud in the Third Degree. Between May 2009 and November 2016, Becker stole the money from the car dealership by writing company checks to pay for personal bills and wiring money from the company into her personal bank account. She used the money to help care for the Dressage horses she owned and for online video games. 

Becker is currently free on bail but faces a maximum sentence of up to 25 years when sentenced on June 13 at 2 p.m
