An Arrest in a Wyoming County Hit & Run

Two Teens and a Dog Struck

(Warsaw, N.Y.) - New York State Police in Warsaw have made an arrest in the hit & run last Thursday that resulted in two girls being struck by a vehicle and a dog killed in the town of Sheldon in Wyoming County.

Troopers arrested 27 year old Lauren Hall of Strykersville. She faces two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, leaving the scene of a serious personal injury accident, leaving the scene of injury to certain animals, and other charges.

Police say Hall was driving on Dutch Hollow Road near Route 78 on August 15 around 8pm when she hit two girls who were walking a dog.  A 12 year old girl had serious non-life threatening injuries and a 14 year old girl had minor injuries. The dog was killed.

Troopers identified the type of car involved in the accident through forensic evidence and solicited tips from the public to find the operator of the vehicle.

It was determined the vehicle was a 2017 black Chevrolet Trax. It had passenger side mirror damage and head light damage.

Hall was arraigned in town of Sheldon court.  She is scheduled for a court appearance in September.
