Arrest in Hamburg Fire

Suspect found with items inside burning home

Hamburg, NY (WBEN) Hamburg Police say an Eden man has been charged after being found with items that were inside a burning home.

Nicholas Harms is charged with Burglary 2nd,  Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 3rd, Petit Larceny, Possession of Stolen Property 5th and Trespass 3rd.  The Sherriff’s Office will be charging him with Possession of Stolen Property 4th and Grand Larceny 4th in connection with Tuesday's fire on Rosedale Avenue.

Two Firefighters were taken to local hospitals and treated for minor injuries.  The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing, anyone with information that could aid in the investigation are asked to call the Hamburg Village Detectives Office at 716-649-4501.
