BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo Police have made an arrest in the March 8 shooting that killed a Buffalo man near the North Buffalo Community Center and injured two others.

18-year-old Josue Bermudez is charged with second degree murder in connection with the shooting. 17-year-old Deron Allen was killed in the shooting while two other teens were injured. WBEN has the names of the two other victims of the shooting but reporters were asked by Erie County District Attorney John Flynn to not release the names.

Allen and the two other teens tried to enter a party at the North Buffalo Community Center on the evening of the shooting but were turned away. As they were leaving, that's when Bermudez allegedly fired multiple bullets.

"This is a case of just good-old fashioned police work," Buffalo Police Captain Jeff Rinaldo told WBEN. "Councilman (Joel) Feroleto went door to door...our detectives went door-to-door. Our Buffalo SafeCam project allowed us quick access from multiple sources."

"In this case right here, I have a very good reason why I want to hold the release of the mugshot of the defendant," Flynn said. "I will not be releasing the mugshot of the defendant in this case here. This may be the only time I've ever done that in my two-plus years here. I do that because I have a very good reason for doing that in this case right here."

Police say about 50 people were attending a party at the community center at the time of the shootings.
