Another Threat at Transit Middle School

Williamsville, NY (WBEN) For the third time this week, a threat has been reported to Transit Middle School.

Thursday, Amherst Police say a threat was made to the school, and responding officers completed a thorough search of the building as well as the surrounding area. No threats were found at this time, nor any danger to students and faculty. 

Wednesday, police responded to a bomb threat. Students were temporarily evacuated while the building was cleared by Amherst officers along with the assistance of NFTA bomb detection dogs. No threat was found.

Another bomb threat was reported Tuesday.

Williamsville Schools issued this statement:

The Williamsville Central School District is working diligently with the Amherst Police to resolve the incidents that have occurred at Transit Middle this week. There is an active investigation underway and no further information can be shared at this time. Every threat to the safety of students and staff is taken seriously and when the perpetrator(s) are identified, they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The school day is continuing as normal at Transit Middle with a police presence on-site. After school and evening activities will continue as scheduled.
