Annual "Coffee with a Cop" Returns

Buffalo Police event used to build relationships and recruitment

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - City of Buffalo Police are participating in the annual "Coffee with a Cop" program on Saturday morning at various Tim Horton's in the areas.

The national program continues as a way for Buffalo Police to engage with the community and for recruitment for the upcoming police exams. Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown said current recruitment is reaching upwards of 1,000 people.

"The Buffalo Police Department cares," Brown said. "The Buffalo Police Department is a member of the community. When community and police relations are strong, it makes for a safer community."

Deputy Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia said communication is the way to break down barriers.

Coffee with a Cop runs at the following locations from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

  • Delaware at Allen
  • Bailey at William
  • Niagara at Ontario
  • Kensington at Eggert
  • Martha Mitchell Community Center (175 Oakmont Avenue)
