Albright-Knox Closing Until 2022

Project Includes Addition and Refurbishment

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Albright Knox closing today at 5:00pm and will remain so until the year 2022 while the gallery undergoes what’s tabbed as the AK360 Campus Development and Expansion Project. The project will add 30,000 square feet of space for displaying special exhibitions and the museum’s art collection.

Maria Morreale, Director of Communications for the gallery says Albright-Knox will, “still be active and present throughout the Western New York Community through a series of initiatives that we’re going to implement while we’re closed for construction on this site.”

Three main initiatives include a January 17th opening of a New Project Space on Northland Avenue which will new project space host a variety of exhibitions and performances.”

Morreale add that the Art Truck will also be, “rolling creativity offering art classes, projects and activities.” Anyone wanting a visit by the art truck for their community group can schedule by visiting Albright

The gallery will also continue its public art program, which will display more public art in public spaces.
