122nd running of the YMCA Turkey Trot

Chad Maloy is a repeat winner at 24:25

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The 122nd running of the YMCA Turkey Trot is on the books as 14,000 hit the streets of Buffalo for the 8k race that started along Delaware Avenue. The Turkey Trot is an annual event that’s become a Thanksgiving tradition.  

24 year old Chad Maloy of Buffalo won the race in 24:25, shaving 20 seconds off his winning 2016 time. The first woman across the line was Jenny Delsignore, 22, of Tonawanda witha  time of 28:18.  Search Turkey Trot 2017 results here.

The YMCA Turkey Trot helps support kids and families across Western New York as proceeds from the Turkey Trot help make YMCA programs and services accessible to people in our community who would otherwise not be able to afford the full costs.

Since 1896 runners have competed in the cross country race that has become today’s Turkey Trot. The race attracts serious runners, amateurs, and team competitors alike. The Turkey Trot is an 8k footrace which begins on Delaware Avenue, and continues into downtown Buffalo.
